Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Nova website handles information. It applies to this site and to the request-access form on it.

The Nova desktop application is a separate product, currently in a closed private preview. How it handles data on your machine is described on our Privacy & Security page. A dedicated application privacy policy will accompany general availability.

We collect only what you type into the request-access form. Nothing else is gathered about you.

• Email address — required, so we can write to you about the preview.
• Platform preference — optional (Windows, macOS, or Linux), so we know which build to prioritise.

We do not ask for and do not collect your name, company, address, phone number, or payment details. There are no accounts, so there is no password.

Your email is used for exactly one purpose: to contact you about access to the Nova preview.

We do not use it for marketing campaigns, newsletters, or automated drip sequences.

This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, and no third-party tracking scripts. Fonts are served from this site rather than a third-party font service, so simply browsing does not report your visit to anyone else.

Two features store small amounts of data in your browser only. This data is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

• localStorage — key nova.ledger.v1, used by the Ledger demonstration to remember which sections of the site you have viewed. You can clear it at any time with the Ledger’s own erase control.
• sessionStorage — used by an ambient visual effect to track which sections you have scrolled past. It is discarded when you close the tab.

Clearing your browser’s site data for this domain removes both immediately. Neither is used to identify or profile you.

We use two service providers to run this site:

• Supabase — stores the request-access list (your email and optional platform preference).
• Cloudflare — hosts and delivers the site. Like any web host, its infrastructure processes standard request data such as IP address and browser user-agent in order to serve pages and protect against abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.

This website contains no AI features. Nothing you type into it is processed by an AI model, and your email address is never used to train any model.

Nova the application does use AI models to do its work. How it decides between on-device and cloud processing — and what leaves your machine when it does — is described on Local + cloud.

We keep your request-access entry until one of the following happens, whichever comes first:

• You ask us to remove it.
• The private preview programme ends and the list is no longer needed.

When we remove an entry, it is deleted from our database rather than flagged as inactive.

Because we hold so little, your options are simple. Email privacy@nova.new and we will:

• tell you whether you are on the list and what it holds;
• correct your entry;
• delete your entry entirely.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Write to us and we will honour them.

The site is served over HTTPS. The request-access list is stored in a managed database with row-level access rules, so the public site can add an entry but cannot read the list back.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you believe you have found a security problem, please write to hello@nova.new.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, contact us and we will remove it.

Nova is early, and this policy will grow as the product does. If it changes in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will update the date at the top of this page — and, if the change is significant, tell preview members directly.
